The transition flashing is used to join two roofing planes of different slopes. The upper part of the transition flashing slides underneath the upper portion of the top roofing plane and the bottom portion installs on top of the ribs of the lower roof plane. Use outside closures and inside closures for maximum weather tightness.
The gable trim installs over the fascia board on the slopped side of the roof. The gable trims main purpose is to protect either the 1 x 4's used when doing a roof-over from wood rot and protect the fascia board from wood rot as well.
Drip edge is used over the fascia board to prevent water from running down the board and creating an environment that could lead to wood rot. The kick-out at the bottom of the drip edge makes sure the water drips away from the fascia board. The drip edge comes in 10' long pieces and should be overlapped at least 3" when overlapping is necessary.
The ridge cap is installed at the peak of the roof where two intersecting roof planes join. It helps prevent water from entering the seams formed from the two roof planes. The ridge cap is sold in 10' lengths.
The endwall flashing is used where the metal roofing panels terminate into a wall. You usually see this in the case of a two story house or a house that has dormers on it. We recommend the use of outside closures to create a weather tight seal.
The hip cap is used when two intersecting planes meet at an angle. The hip cap along with the use of peel and seal, is used to create a weather tight seal.
The sidewall trim is used where a roof plane runs parallel to a wall which is a part of a building or house. The sidewall trim seals the gap formed between the metal roofing panel and the sidewall trim piece. It is recommended to use tacky tape with the sidewall to create a weather tight seal.
